A Mario Wojnicki model 235V5 bamboo fly rod, 7'9", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. Serial 4171. The rod weighs 3.4 ounces. Pentagonal design. Mint condition with the paper still on the grip. Medium action. Flamed cane with light nodes. Very light coat of varnish. The main wraps are apricot with black edges and black at the ferrules. The ferrules are oxidized and step-style. The stripper is a carbide ring and the snakes are chrome. The grip is still wrapped in paper with tape and is 6 1/2" long in a modified half wells style. The slide band reel seat features twin opposed slide bands, both oxidized. The bottom of the seat is cork and some type of laminate which functionally secures the twin bands. The bag is eggshell color. The tube is brushed aluminum with brass bottom, collar, and top. The top is engraved with the model # and the collar is engraved with "M. Wojnicki, Maker."
