An early Orvis Manchester bamboo fly rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #6 line (HDH). Serial #15028, indicating a 1953 manufacture date. "Orvis Impregnated" and "Manchester" inked on the butt. Medium action. Impregnated cane done in a three up node pattern. The cane is in good shape though there are a fair number of glue lines and some cosmetic discoloration in a few areas. Good used condition overall. The grip has had some hand soiling, the keeper has busted off (the keeper feet are still tightly wrapped down however), and there is some mild oxidation loss to the butt female ferrule and one tip top. One tip has a righthanded set. Otherwise it's pretty good and eminently fishable. Wrapped in red throughout. 6" cork grip in a medium cigar profile. Aluminum downlocking screwlock over a wood spacer. Comes packed in a green poplin bag and the original aluminum tube with the Orvis data sticker affixed to it.
