A very nice Robert Bolt bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. Serial #0405. Listed at 3 7/8 ounces and that's what it weighs on my scale as well. Full flexing medium action. The rod appears to be lightly fished or perhaps even lawn cast only, with just a tiny bit of soiling to the grip, but no other meaningful signs of use that I could see. The rod is nice and straight with the cane done in a two opposed node pattern. Excellent varnish. Wrapped in brown throughout with yellow tipping. The ferrules have the characteristic Howells-style overwrap and come with a brass knurled ferrule plug. The grip is 6" long and shaped to a western profile. The seat is an uplocking aluminum screwlock with a hidden pocket cap under the grip. The screwlock bears Bolt's maker stamp and the spacer is what appears to be a varnished piece of Zebrawood. The rod packs into an orange cloth rod bag and an aluminum tube with Robert's data label affixed and gold anodized aluminum fittings.
