A rare Payne 13' two-handed salmon rod. Payne catalogs have this model listed as a 226. By my feel it should cast a #9 or #10 weight line. Very good condition only very lightly used. This rod was one of the favorite mentioned by Charlie Phair in his early (and excellent) book on atlantic salmon fishing. Downlocking screw lock reel seat. 6" bottom grip with a button, and a 10" top grip in the standard Payne cigar style. Wrapped brown with green edges, and with purple at the hook keeper and ferrules. Beautiful varnish, just gorgeous. The rod comes with a bag for the tips and a larger canvas bag for carrying all of the rod sections.
