For sale here is a Bob Summers Deluxe Model 856 bamboo fly rod - 8' 2/2 for a 5-6wt line. Serial no. 712006, made in 2006. The rod is in excellent original condition and well taken care of. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features handsome flamed cane with exquisitely wrapped transparent, caramel brown silks with black tipping. The script remains clean and bold. Garrison-style hook keeper. Full wells grip measures 6 3/8" in length with light soiling. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat over a mortised walnut spacer. "R.W. Summers Co. Traverse City, M.I. U.S.A." is stamped on the butt cap. The ferrule fit is excellent. The rod weighs 5.30 oz. Medium-fast action and parabolic. Includes original labeled bag with attached ferrule plug and tube with Summers' unique brass fittings.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
