Nice FE Thomas special bamboo fly rod, 8', three piece, to tip, and built for what feels to me like #4. Medium slow action. Excellent refinished condition. Somewhat random spiral-ish node pattern and rich honey-colored cane. Bright ferrules and hardware. Agate stripping guide. Signature wraps done in mustard and chinese red in the hallmark 3-7-3-1 pattern, the rest of the rod similarly wrapped in mustard with red tipping. Hook keeper. 6" cigar grip done in a blunt cigar profile. Sliding band seat over a wood spacer, with "FE Thomas Special, Bangor ME" stamped into a cartouche in the cap. "34" stamped into a target on the bottom of the cap. The rod packs in a poplin bag and an aluminum spacer with aluminum fittings.
