For sale here is a FE Thomas Browntone Special bamboo rod 8' 2/2 5-6wt. The rod weighs 4 3/8 oz. Made in 1939. Medium fast action. 17/64 and 10/64 ferrules. Purchased from Walt Carpenter 20 years ago for $950 after suffering varnish meltdown. Restored by the master, Steve Blake in 1999 (receipt included). All of the original hardware was retained. Steve of course wrapped with correct silks. Never fished post-restoration. Replacement bag and what appears to be an original FET tube. Exc+ restored condition.

There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.
