For sale here is an F.E. Thomas Special bamboo rod -- 9'6" 3/2 for a 8-9 weight. Serial #F394, made in 1945. The rod is in very good original condition. There is some slight bag burn on all sections but it's very minor. All sections are full length and straight with the exception of a set in one of the tips. Deep golden colored silks with red tipping at winding check and ferrules. Ferrules are 11/64 and 19/64. Ferrules fit well. Weight is 7 1/8 oz. Western style grip in excellent condition. Up-locking reel seat over dark walnut. Rod was designed to accept a removable fighting butt. The piece has been lost though. Original heavy canvas bag and tube with label. A nice salmon rod from a classic maker.
