Leather Salmon Fly Magazine

A remarkable leather Fly Magazine that I've only very rarely seen. I've been told that Wheatley was the manufacturer for these. The outer case is a handsome leather box with an intact strap and a locking snap (though I have avoided locking it). When you open the case you see three slim books marked "A", "B" and "C", respectively. Each book has a wooden frame with leather binding that holds two celluloid exterior pages that, when unfolded, reveal salmon fly clips on the inside of each exterior page as well as two celluloid pages that sit inside the frame. The result is similar to a Wheatley swing salmon box, with each book capable of accommodating 80 salmon flies. The books as well as the case are all in excellent condition with no major defects or issues that I could find. I suspect that this likely dates from 1910-1920. A very handsome and ingenuous little case that would be a great addition for a lover of classic salmon flies.
