For sale here is a Gary Howells 8' 5wt 2/2 bamboo rod with a labeled weight of 3 7/8 oz. Serial no. 4823. The rod is in excellent original condition. All sections are full length and straight. Maybe the darkest pumpkin-toned varnished cane finish I've ever seen on a Howells rod. Truly stunning! Copper colored silks with gold trim. Ring hook-keeper. The grip is soiled but free of ridging. Aluminum up-locking reel seat with a fine wood spacer. Ferrule size 14/64 with an excellent fit. The rod has a medium-fast action and the actual weight is 4 1/8 oz. Comes with original bag and labeled tube in excellent condition.
