A nice Gus Nevros fly rod, 6'4", 2-piece, 2-tips, built for a #4 line. 2.9 ounces. Shows signs of light use. Full flexing, semi-parabolic action yet feels like it will generate a very good line speed. It has always been a real pleasure to view a rod whose maker has taken great care in its making. Medium wheatstraw temper cane with very small pressed nodes in a spiral pattern. Good varnish with no defects. The main wraps are brown with multiple edges of orange and black fore and aft. Brown intermediates. Artificial stripper and black snake guides. The swiss ferrules are oxidized. The front cork check is varnished wood (walnut?) 1/4" long which blends perfectly into the 5" long medium cigar grip. The reel seat is 3" plus 1/2" for the pocket cap and is 1/2 cork and 1/2 varnished wood with the grain aligned to thew wrap flat and the grain of the front cork check - a nice touch by Gus. The bottom of the seat has a brass disc with "N" engraved. The rod comes with a large wood and cork finial style ferrule plg and packs into a dark brown cloth rod bag with a stiffener and pouch for the ferrule plug and a set of grips to take the rod apart. The rod tube is brushed aluminum with a brass top from the Rodon Co.
