For sale here is a Hardy "Fairchild" Palakona 9' 3/1 5-6wt bamboo rod. Serial number E41850, made in 1937. The rod is in very good original condition. The tip is a 1/2" shorter than the butt section (made that way). There is the beginning of minor varnish meltdown and some chipping in places. Slight set in the tip. Emerald green silks with full intermediates. Agate stripping guide. Cigar grip in excellent condition. Aluminum down-locking sliding band reel seat over cork. Ferrule sizes 17/64 and 11/64 and the fit is great. Original ferrule plugs. Classic medium action. Rod weighs 4 3/4 oz. Comes with replacement bag and tube.
