For sale here is a Hardy Palakona The No. 2 De Luxe - a 9'6" 3/2 6-7wt bamboo rod. Serial number E53191, made in 1941. The rod is in excellent original condition with a few exceptions. It may have received a light touch-up coat of varnish at some point. Also, the varnish displays a bit of minor bag burn in areas. All sections are full length and straight save a slight set in one tip section.
Moderately tempered cane with crimson silks and full intermediates in a dark golden thread color. Agate stripping guide and tip-tops. Reverse English-style guides. The script remains clean and bold. The full wells grip is 6 3/4' in length and appears to have been cleaned at some point as it is quite worn and ridged in areas yet clean. Aluminum up-locking reel seat over a handsome bakelite spacer. The blued nickel silver ferrules are size 12/64 and 18/64 with an excellent fit. The rod weighs 6.25 oz. with a smooth and authoritative medium-fast action. Well suited as an all around 6wt. The rod includes a replacement bag of the same era and no tube.

There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
