A very scarce Hardy Brass Faced Perfect wide drum fly reel, 4 1/4" diameter with rotating German silver line guide embedded in the frame, referred to as the 1903 line guide design with the turned-up 1905 check spring. The winding plate features the "rod-in-hand" logo as well as the straight-line logo. Excellent overall condition. The ivory handle is in fine condition and spins freely. There are matching "4" stamps on each part of the reel. Tight condition mechanically. The pierced brass foot appears full length and unmolested, measuring 3 3/4" in length. Turks head nut over the adjustable spring tensioner. Minor dings throughout with some normal wear to the alloy but no cracks or serious dings are visible. A very fine example of this model.
