A nice early Hardy St. George salmon reel, the rarer three screw version. 3 3/4" diameter and set up for the usual right hand wind. Very nice condition for a reel of this age I could find no major defects anywhere just the usual light cosmetic wear that you would expect. The patina has been worn down some but is fairly uniform in this regard, with no sign of any cleaning or anything other than time as the likely cause. The agate in the line guard is flawless, and the reel is mechanically very smooth with a nice click and no spool wobble. Unmolested ribbed brass foot and ebonite handle which spins freely. Duplicated check. The reel packs into a suede zipper fleece-lined pouch. Very nice example of this early three screw St. George.
