A nice HL Leonard Tournament fly rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tips, and built for what feels to me like a #5 weight line. 4.8 ounces. This is an older rod with the pot belly ferrules and an all-nickel silver reel seat. Refinished condition. Medium action. Re-wrapped in gold with black edges, with full intermediates and signature wraps. The agate stripper is crack fee and the snake guides are heavy wire reverse twist. Most of the ferrules have been re-set, leaving the 2 tips slightly longer than the mid and butt section (you can also tell that the ferrules have been re-set because the original lineup punches on them are on the wrong flats and the pinning is fairly visible. The grip is a 5" blunt cigar made of 3/8" corks and has some ridging from cleaning. The seat is a lovely all nickel silver slide band and pocket cap with the stamp "The Leonard Rod, HL Leonard Rod Co, Makers" and "Tournament". The ferrule fits are good and the rod is straight very fishable. Non original bag and tube.
