An HL Leonard Duracane bamboo fly rod, 6'6", 2-piece, 2-tips, and built for a #4 line. Serial #2655 with an approximate manufacture date of the early 1970's. The rod weighs 2.4 ounces on my scale. Very lightly used condition, with no cosmetic cracks to the ferrule wraps, no grip soiling, but there is a tiny bit of brassing to the inner snake guides, a bit of wear on the ferrule welt, and some oxidation that's rubbed off on the corner of the pocket cap. The action is slow to medium. Impregnated cane done in a three up node pattern. Brown wraps with black edges on all wraps. Ceramic stripper in a shock ring and black snake guides and tip tops. The grip is 4 1/2" long and shaped to a fat cigar profile, with an all cork seat with a slide band and nickel silver pocket cap. Both the band and cap are oxidized and the cap is stamped "HLL / HL Leonard Rod Co / Makers". The rod packs into a tan poplin bag with a stiffener and a leather pull tab, and an aluminum tube with brass fittings.
