A nice Leonard Tournament fly rod, 8', 4-pieces, 2-tips, and built for what feels like a #4 or #5 line. 4.1 ounces. Medium slow action. This rod has been expertly refinished with yellow mustard colored wraps and a flawless varnish finish. Everything on it is correct. Agate stripper, reverse twist guides, tapered tube small hoop tip tops. The ferrules are all correctly aligned, fit properly, and have the patent date stamp as well as the pot belly profile. The grip is 4 1/2" long in a slim cigar configuration. The reel seat is made with a butternut spacer with an excellent coat of varnish underneath a slide band. The cap is stamped "The, Leonard, HL Leonard Rod Co, Makers" in cartouche and on the reverse "Tournament". The rod packs into an eggshell colored poplin bag (no hangtag). The aluminum and brass tube is all pre-fire original. A very well done refinish on a rare 4-piece model.
