A nice H.L. Leonard 39-5 H model fly rod, 7'6', 2-piece, 2-tips, built for a #5 line. Serial #3787. Weighs 4.3 ounces. Very good lightly used condition. 3 up node pattern construction and the cane has a wheat straw temper. Light brown main wraps with dark brown edges and dark brown at the keeper, ferrules, and tip tops. Chrome or stainless snake guides and a ceramic style stripper. The grip is a blunt western style with the mass shifted forward. The grip is only lightly soiled. Butternut wood is used for the spacer on an uplocking aluminum screw lock. The slide is stamped "The Leonard Rod, H.L. Leonard Rod Co, Makers". Original bag and the rod comes in the Leonard factory leather case with "HLL" embossed on the leather and a leather packet with the owner's name (Note: the metal buckle for the case top strap is broken but it is in excellent shape otherwise).
