A nice Leonard model 66 fly rod, 8' 2-piece, 2-tip built for a #5 line. Serial #2576. Medium action. The rod has been re-finished. Wrapped yellow with no edges. High arch guides show minimal wear. Butternut slide band shows more evidence of wear. The cap is stamped "The Leonard, H.L. Leonard Rod Co, Makers" in the cartouche. Below the cartouche it is stamped "reg us pat off". Sweet delicate action for a 5 wt. The grip has been cleaned, leaving some ridging. 1 tip has 2 facet cracks on the nodes close to the base of the tip above the ferrule. I would suggest a clear wrap before using this tip. The second tip is in excellent condition. Original bag and hang tag. Original brass top tube. This is a nice chance to own what is a fairly rare model since the taper rod for it was destroyed in the 1964 fire at Leonard. This was also one of the late Marty Keane's favorite Leonard rods.
