For sale here is a very unique opportunity to acquire a nice Leonard rod from circa 1920 which was owned by the great Mel Kreiger. The rod came to me from Mel's widow, Fanny. It's a 9 foot rod, 3 section, 2 tip hexagonal rod of Catskills taper design, having snake guides and agate stripping guide and tip tops. The tips comes in their separate tube case. The ferrules bear the patent numbers "Pat. Sept. 3. 1878" and "Pat. Oct. 26.75". The reel seat is stamped "The H. L. Leonard Rod" and "Leonard and Mills Co. Maker." The rod is wrapped in a variegated thread and has full intermediate windings. All cosmetics appear to be correct and unaltered. Overall the rod is in excellent condition for its age.
