A superb Charlton 8550C fly reel with the super scarce Spey spool! Right hand retrieve. 4 1/2" diameter with a 1.2" spool width and a weight of 12.3 ounces. It is designed to hold the equivalent of DT11F and 230 yards of 30# backing. The reel is in excellent+ condition, with a few tiny scuffs on the handle, some mounting marks on the foot, and a few tiny scuffs on the frame, though so minute that they are hard to detect. It is perfect mechanically. Considered by Jack Charlton himself as his best work, the Charlton 8550C is known by anglers and collectors around the world for its machining quality. The 8550C series follows the Charlton configurable approach, accommodating line weights 7 and above with four distinctively different spools sizes (each sold separately). The legendary sealed carbon fiber disk drag is self-adjusting and has over 9-square inches of surface area. A large arbor design gives the angler over one foot of line retrieve per revolution. Meticulously coated with a high-polished, deep black Type III anodized finish with matte reliefs. Fully machined from high-grade aluminum and steel. Comes with its original blue cordura reel case.
