For sale here is a Jenkins Model GA803 bamboo rod from the bench of Charlie and Steve Jenkins. The rod is in unused condition. 8 feet, 3/2 format for a 5 weight line. Weighs 4 3/8 oz. Matched tips. Darkly oxidized down-locking cap and ring reel seat. Agate stripper. Clear caramel thread wraps. Oxidized nickel silver ferrules (truncated). Oxidized guides. Includes original bag and original labeled aluminum tube. The rod has a very pleasant medium fast action. A wonderful all-around trout rod.
This rod was made in 2005. During this time period, both Steve and Charlie were living in Denver and combining their talents in building these fine rods. Charlie would split the cane, temper the cane and mill the strips to the butt section specifications. He would then pass the strips along to Steve who would finish the rod – glue the butt section, mill and glue the tips, straighten and ferrule the sections, add the components, wind the guides and prepare the rod for shipping.
