For sale here is a stunning rod made by Marc Aroner, his Spring Creek Special model made with pre-embargo cane. 7 1/2 feet with three sections and two tips for a four-weight line. The rod is in excellent++ condition with only the slightest evidence of use. All sections are full length and straight.
Transparent olive wraps with red tipping as well as full intermediates in red. The varnish job is absolutely pristine, as Mark is well-known for. The rod has bookmatched tip sections. Three-up node pattern. Deeply oxidized hardware. Agate stripping guide. Nickel silver checks. Swelled butt. The cigar grip measures 5 1/2" in length. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a beautifully figured mortised wood spacer. The Swiss-style ferrules fit perfectly. Fine brass/cork ferrule plugs. The rod weighs 3.85 oz. Medium fast action with a great balance of finesse and casting authority. Original bag and tube with fine brass fittings and "Aroner" stamp on the collar.
