Marc Aroner Spring Creek Fly Rod 7'6" 3/2 #4 DF

840

An Aroner Spring Creek fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tips, built for a #4 line. I built this rod in the early 1990's and it is in very good condition with a very small amount of use. There is some slight brassing to the inner guides and the seat hardware edges. There is a small cosmetic flex crack to the mid male wrap. Fast DF action with a nice sized swell showing at the grip. Blonde cane oven tempered to a dark wheat straw. Three up node pattern construction and hand pressed nodes. Mirrored tips. Flawless varnish. The wraps are olive tipped maroon with an extra band of orange at the keeper only. Truncated swiss ferrules with a collar with recessed slant knurling and two trim marks on all the males. 5 1/4" blunt cigar grip. Nickel silver slide band seat with all the nickel silver parts oxidized. The seat is a spectacular stained birdseye maple (I think this is among the nicest pieces of wood I've seen in 35 years). Brass ferrule plugs. The rod packs into a light olive fine weave poplin bag and a polished aluminum tube and FE Thomas style brass hardware with the thick neoprene pads at the inside ends.
