A Mario Wojnicki 257F6 bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 line. Serial #8168. The rod weighs 4.5 ounces on my scale. Mario's name and the rod model and serial numbers are inked on the shaft. Fast full flexing action. The rod is straight and the ferrules seat well. Excellent lightly used condition with some soiling to the grip and two small scratches to the varnish in one area on the butt, though the rod is very clean overall. Straw colored cane done in a two opposed node pattern. The varnish is in good shape overall. Wrapped in a light apricot color with red tipping at the grip, signature wrap, male ferrules, and tip tops. Carbide stripper and dark snakes and tip tops. Truncated swiss-style ferrules that are oxidized pewter. The grip is a Powell style with a flare in the middle and a bulb shape at the top which tapers down into the cane. The reel seat is an aluminum uplocking slide band over a varnished wooden spacer and a hidden pocket cap in the heel. The slide band has Mario's name stamped into the backside opposite the pocket and the nut is a slightly darker oxidized color. The bottom of the seat is a cork and composite cap which holds the hardware on. The rod packs into the original gray cloth bag and tube.
