South Creek Ltd. - St. Vrain Special 7'6 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a very scarce South Creek Ltd. St. Vrain Special 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. The rod was finished by Mike from Phillipson blanks. The rod was made in 2000 with only eight made. It is in excellent overall condition with all sections full length and straight.

The rod features the familiar moderately tempered impregnated Phillipson blanks, chestnut silks with gold tipping, and a red agate stripping guide. Blued hardware. The butt is ever so slightly swelled. The script remains bold and clean. Full wells grip 6 1/4" in length with only light soiling. Elegant cap and ring reel seat over a beautifully figured mortised wood spacer. There is some wear to the bluing on the ring, butt cap, and reel seat check. The swiss-style ferrules are size 13/64 with an excellent fit. The rod weighs 4 3/8 oz. The action is on the medium side of medium-fast with an excellent balance of power in the butt to finesse in the tips. A wonderful all-around trout rod. The rod includes the original bag and tube as well as a guaranteed tune-up when needed from Mike for the life of the rod.
