A Charles Neuner bamboo fly rod, 6'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #0716. The rod weighs 2.6 ounces on my scale. New, unused condition. Fast DF action but flexes nicely down into the butt. The cane is lightly flamed and done in a three up node pattern. The main wraps are transparent with cinnamon edges, and the ferrules are wrapped in cinnamon. The stripper is carbide and the snake guides are dark nickel. The rod is fitted with oxidized step ferrules and comes with a nickel silver and cork ferrule plug. The varnish is superb and the rod is pin straight. The cork grip is 5 1/2" long and turned to a slim cigar profile. The cap and ring seat is oxidized jet black and the cap has "Charles P Neuner, Maker" engraved in an oval cartouche. The nicely varnished wood seat appears to my eye to be figured Koa. The rod packs into an olive cloth bag and a black painted tube with brass hardware.
