An EC Powell semi-hollow built fly rod, 9', 3-Piece, 2-tip, built for what feels to me like a #6 line. Weighs 4.6 ounces on my scale. Patent date lettered on the butt shaft. 2-opposed node construction with honey colored cane. Good varnish overall. Standard brown Powell wraps with intermediates and the cream and black tipping on the lowermost wraps at the grip. The wraps are in good condition overall with mild cracking on a few of the ferrule wraps but nothing concerning. One tip-top wrap is fraying slightly at the top but would be easily remedied. The other tip has a small seam opening in the lower portion but it does not appear to be a structural issue. Agate stripping guide. The ferrules fit together nicely and the rod is nice and straight. Medium action in what I suspect is a B taper. The grip has moderate soiling and a small amount of ridging here and there. Standard Powell grip profile. Bakelite reel seat with aluminum uplocking seat with the Powell stamp. Comes in a light tan bag and aluminum tube with a brass tube top (the collar has a split but it is not loose at all) and bottom. A nice overall rod here, perfect for larger trout or light steelhead work.
