A nice HL Leonard bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 3-piece, 2-tips, built for what feels to me like a #4 line. Serial #2525. 3.6 ounces. Lightly used in near mint condition. Medium action. 1974 or 1975 manufacture date. The grip has been cleaned but the guides have just the start of some brassing from use. Wheatstraw color cane with red wraps. Keeper one flat right. Serial # lettered one flat left. Excellent varnish for the period. Wrapped 326 red with a band of green and then red at the keeper and the male ferrules. The grip is 5 1/2" with a medium cigar profile. Square thread downlocking screw lock. Varnished butternut spacer with a nickel silver pocket cap stamped "HLL, HL Leonard Rod Co, Makers" in a cartouche. The rod is packed in a typical-for-the-period yellow Leonard cloth bag. Aluminum tube that I suspect is a later factory replacement. Brass hardware and top is stamped with the Leonard logo on the collar.
