A superb Sam Carlson "Carlson Four" bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, built for a #7 line. Serial #755-482. The rod weighs 4.7 ounces. Fast DF action, the rod feels like a reel cannon, great for big water. Mint, uncast condition. The rod is the fifth rod made in 1975 and the was first to be lettered and sold as the "Carlson Four". The original owner's name is inked on the rod. Flamed cane with lighter nodes. Maroon main wraps with a black edge at the male ferrules. Chrome snake guides. The ferrules are oxidized. The grip is 6 1/2" long and squared to the black tenite front cork check. The grip has a hidden pocket cap for the uplocking screwlock.
