For sale here is an impregnated Orvis "99" 8'6" 2/1 6wt bamboo rod. Serial #34280, built in 1963. Rod is in excellent original condition with a few exceptions, the top guide on the butt section has been re-wrapped as well as the second guide from the tip-top. All sections are full length and straight. Dark tempered cane with Chinese red wraps. The script remains clean and bold. The cigar grip is very finely ridged and has been touched up with filler. Aluminum down-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The seat remains in excellent condition void of scratches or dents. The Super-Z ferrules are size 15/64 with a nice, tight fit. The rod weighs 5 3/8 oz. The rod has a powerful medium-fast action, perfect for streamers, big bushy dry-flies, or nymphing. An excellent all-around trout rod for when the 5wt won't cut it. The label lists the rod as a 7wt though a line size down on older Orvis rods usually performs best. Comes with the original tube with the label retained and the original bag.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
