For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Battenkill 7'6" 2/2 5-6wt bamboo rod. 4 oz. Serial no. 51538. Made in 1968. The rod is in near mint condition and appears to have never been fished. All sections are full length and straight though there is a slight twist/set at the end of one tip.
The rod features the distinctive dark Bakelite impregnated cane with caramel colored wraps. Bright guides. The varnish over the script and wraps remains like new. The original owner's name is printed on the butt along with the usual rod information. The cigar grip is 6 1/2" in length with only the slightest evidence of being handled. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat over a walnut spacer. The blued ferrules are size 13/64 with an excellent fit. There is light wear around the shoulder of the female ferrule. The rod weighs 4.20 oz. The action is medium fast. A fine dry fly rod! Includes original grey bag and original tube with blue and gold foil label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
