For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Battenkill 8'6" 3/2 6wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 43310. Made in April of 1966. The rod is in near mint condition and appears to have only been lawn cast, if that. All wraps are sound, the rod is full length. Chestnut brown wraps over medium-dark tempered cane. Cigar style grip 6 1/4" in length with only very light handling marks. There are a few small dents in the cork likely from the guides during storage. Aluminum down-locking reel seat. The reel seat features a very interesting and rare collapsible fighting butt 2 1/8" in length. This extension slides out of the reel seat and screws into place. It can be removed completely if one desires. The rod weighs 6 1/4 oz. with a listed weight of 5 oz. The rod has a powerful medium-fast action. Described as a 7wt on the tube but would do best a line size down as with most older Orvis rods. Original bag and tube with silver and green foil label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
