For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Battenkill 9' 2/2 7-8wt bamboo rod. Serial #30834 made in 1961. The rod is in excellent original condition. All sections are full length and straight with the exception of a slight set in one tip.
Darkly tempered cane with chestnut brown wraps. The rod oddly features spinning rod-style line guides. The script remains clean and bold. Along with the rod information, the original owner's name is printed. U-shaped hook-keeper. Bright aluminum winding check. Cigar grip 7" in length with mild soiling and very light ridging in places. Aluminum screw lock reel seat. The seat is void of dents or major scratches. The removable fighting butt has unfortunately been lost. The nickel silver ferrules are size 16/64 with a good fit. The rod weighs 6.50 oz. The action is medium-fast. Includes the original bag and tube with half of the label remaining.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
