For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Deluxe 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 42439, made in early 1966. The rod is in excellent condition with a few issues. It displays some light wear from honest use. There is a bit of light rust and corrosion on a few of the guides; nothing that can't be cleaned up. There is a 1" invisible repair wrap on one of the tips 19" down from the tip-top. The sections are full length with sets in all three tips.
The rod features moderately tempered cane with transparent caramel-colored wraps. Blued guides. The script remains clean and bold. Petite cigar grip 4 1/2" in length with moderate soiling though free of any other defect. Dual knurled aluminum band reel seat over a mortised cork spacer. The spacer is indented in a few places from the bands, this is only cosmetic and does not affect function. The blued ferrules are size 12/64 with an excellent fit. The rod weighs 3.20 oz. The action is medium-fast. The rod includes a replacement bag and the original tube with well worn white and blue label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
