For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Madison 7' 4-5wt 2/1 bamboo rod with a labeled weight of 3 oz. Serial #79793 made in 1976. The rod is in excellent+ condition. It shows only slight wear having been fished sparingly. Both sections are full length and straight save a very slight set in the butt section.
Caramel wraps and bright guides. The rod has resorcinol glue lines, a look many like very much. The script remains as it was the day it was written as does the varnish. U-shaped hook keeper. The cigar grip is 6" in length with mild soiling and a bit of minor ridging. Aluminum down-locking reel seat over a cork spacer. The seat shows little to no wear. The blued step-down ferrules are size 11/64 with a great fit. The rod weights 3.20 oz. The action is medium-fast. A terrific rod for spooky fish on small to average sized streams. Though it is marked as a 6wt, Orvis rods usually do best with a line size or two down. Includes the original bag and tube with green and silver foil label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
