For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Madison "Flea" 6'6" 2/1 3-4wt bamboo rod. Serial #87441 made in 1989. The rod remains in excellent+ original condition having been fished sparsely. 

The rod features moderately tempered cane with an impregnated finish. The wraps are a transparent caramel color. The varnish over the wraps and script remains in perfect condition. Bright guides and ferrules. U-shaped hook keeper. Reverse half wells grip 6 1/4" with a rather skinny nose, a common characteristic of Orvis rods. Up-locking reel seat over a rosewood spacer. The step-down ferrules have an excellent fit. Nice and snug. The rod weighs in at 3.30 oz. The action is a responsive medium-fast capable of delicate casts. The thin tip allows for the use of very fine tippet. A perfect rod for exploring those tiny blue lines on the map. 

Includes the original bag and tube with green and silver foil label.

We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
