For sale here is an Orvis Midge 7'6" 2/2 4-5wt bamboo rod. Serial no. 58275. Made in 1970. The rod is in excellent+ original condition. All sections are full length and straight. Lovely, darkly tempered and impregnated cane. Dark caramel colored wraps. The varnish on the wraps and over the writing remains in exceptional condition. Bright guides. U-shaped hook-keeper. Sculpted nickel silver winding check. Cigar grip 6" in length with a skinny nose often seen on Orvis grips. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat with a walnut spacer. The blued step-down ferrules are size 10/64, the fit is perfect. The rod weighs 3 5/8 oz. The action is on the medium side of medium-fast and quite smooth. The rod is marked for a 5wt though a line size down is usually best for these Orvis rods. Includes original gray bag and tube with blue and gold foil label. The tube is housed in a vintage green Orvis rod sock. The sock has kept the tube and label in like new condition. Don't miss out on this near mint example of an original Orvis Midge.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
