A nice Otto Zwarg 400 Laurentian model salmon reel in 3/0 size. 3 5/8" diameter and set up for RHW. 13.4 oz in weight. Serial #B24, indicating a rare circa-1947 Brooklyn-made reel, and it has the Brooklyn stamp on the oil port as well (after two years of operation in Brooklyn, Zwarg moved his reelmaking operation to Florida in 1947. Zwarg, of course, had been the foreman at the Vom Hofe shop for many years). The reel is in good overall condition with minor cosmetic wear though there are two things worth noting. The first is that the frontplate has a small crack near the screws closest to the reel foot. And the second is that there is some possibility that the foot is a replacement, something I suspect given the slightly different patina than what I've typically seen on Zwargs combined with the size/model/serial stamps on it being clumsier than what I have typically seen (I can't say for sure, of course, but that's my suspicion). The drag is very sturdy, and on its strongest setting I would put it up against the heaviest salmon. No bag or pouch. These early Brooklyn Zwargs are hard to come by!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

Other Terms
- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
