For sale here is a Paul H. Young Midge bamboo fly rod from 1956 in excellent plus overall condition. The rod has richly flamed cane, a varnished finish, gold silk wraps, dual bright aluminum rings over all cork reel seat, ventilated grip in fine condition with one thumb indentation, size 12/64" black aluminum ferrules with an excellent tight fit. Lettered on three flats. First flat:"F.P. Horning - May '56 Second flat: "Midge" 6'3" - 1 3/4 oz. H.E.H. Third flat: Paul H. Young Co. Detroit - Maker. One tip is short by 1/2". All sections are straight. No repairs are needed to this very nicely preserved Paul Young treasure! Original bag with no tube. The rod will be shipped in a thick-walled PVC tube.
