For sale here is a Payne Model 100 (maybe 100L) bamboo rod in very good and original condition. 7 1/2 feet, 2/2 for a 3/4 weight. Classic Payne dry fly action. The wraps are the Payne-typical brown silk tipped with gold. Mirrored tips. Blued nickel silver pinned ferrules are size 11/64. Down-sliding cap and ring over cedar insert. Nice red agate stripping guide. No issues with the exquisite cane/node work. The bluing on the pocketed butt cap and ring and female ferrule shows some aging from honest use. The cigar grip shows some ridging as can be seen in the photos. The varnish over one of the wraps on the butt section shows some age/minor cracking but the guide remains firmly attached and the thread is still firmly wrapped underneath. All other wraps are in excellent condition. Varnish in excellent condition - no softness or bag marks. Original poplin bag and labeled brass-capped aluminum tube. Hang tag is missing, although an upper remnant of it and the attachment to the bag are still present. Rod weighs 2.85 oz which may mean it's a 100L model, which was a bit lighter than the standard Model 100 that weighed between 3 1/4 - 3 3/8 oz. Grip measures 5.3".

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
