For sale here is a Payne 7'9" parabolic bamboo rod. Two sections and two tips for a 5 weight line. The rod is in excellent and original condition with one minor exception of one tip top being replaced. All sections are full length and straight.
Chestnut silks and gold tipping at the guides. Gold and burgundy tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. There is some very minor cracking in the varnish on some of the wraps near the ferrules (we call these casting cracks and love seeing them on the original Payne rods that have been used with care). Blued hardware. Handsome swelled butt with a ring hook keeper. The cigar grip is 5 1/2" in length with moderate soiling and some very light ridging. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a cork spacer. Some of the bluing has worn off the sliding band and butt cap. The butt cap bears the "Payne" trademark stamp. The ferrules are size 11/64 with a perfect fit and the original ferrule plug is included. The rod weighs 3.90 oz. The parabolic action is on the medium side of medium-fast. Replacement bag and tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
