A nice EF Payne Model 206L fly rod, 9', 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #4 line (I might even fish it with a #3). Slow full flexing action. 4.7 ounces. An excellent restoration job done on this rod by Steve Blake with superb varnish and all the original hardware and guides. Wrapped brown with red edges and an extra band of yellow and purple at the keeper and male ferrules. All full length and with excellent ferrule fits. The rod is straight. The grip is a blunt cigar 5 1/2" long. It has been cleaned but without damaging it at all or leaving ridging. The reel seat is a walnut cap and ring. The butt cap is stamped with the older "EF Payne, Rod, EF Payne Rod Co, Makers" stamp in a cartouche. The olive poplin bag is missing the hang tag and the bag originally went with an 8'6" rod. The rod tube is an early original with the grey felt in the cap.
