For sale here is a beautiful Payne Canadian Canoe rod with its original hang tag, bag and tube. This model was one of the three special rods Payne offered in the 1950's to 1970's, along with the Bass Bug Rod and the Streamer Rods. Each is very rarely seen!
8 1/2 feet, three sections with two tips for a 7 weight line. The rod weighs 5 3/4 oz. and remains in excellent plus original condition. All sections are full length and straight. Chestnut brown silks with black tipping with black and gold tipping at the male ferrules and winding check. Moderately tempered cane. All of the hardware is oxidized with the exception of the reel seat. Aluminum up-locking reel seat over a gorgeous cedar insert. Ferrule sizes 12/64 and 18/64 with an excellent fit. The action is medium fast and very authoritative. It is missing its extension butt and ferrule plugs.
A very desirable and very scarce Payne rod. Don't miss out as you may not see another one like it in a very long time!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
