Payne Model 102 Bamboo Rod 8' 2/2 #5

For sale here is a Payne Model 102 bamboo rod in excellent original condition. The rod weighs 4 1/8 oz with uplocking reel seat over a Spanish cedar spacer. 8' 2/2 for a 5 weight line. The reel seat bears the “Payne” trademark stamp. The Model 102 is a scarce one with a light dry fly action. All sections are full length and the two tips have casting sets (which I can have removed). The grip is slightly ridged as well. The size 12/64 ferrule fit is buttery smooth. Complete with original bag and labeled tube. The hang tag attachment thread is present, but the hang tag itself is missing. The tube cap is a replacement and doesn't quite thread all the way down. These minor details aside, this is a very desirable Payne model!
