For sale here is a one-tip Payne Model 97 bamboo rod -- 7' for a 3/4 weight line. Excellent original condition. Both sections are full length and straight. Moderately tempered cane with chestnut silks and gold tipping. Gold and purple at the winding check, male ferrules, and tip-top. Blued guides. Slightly swelled butt. Ring hook-keeper. Cigar grip 5 1/2" in length with moderate soiling. Cap and ring reel seat over a mortised spanish cedar spacer. The butt cap reads," MADE FOR ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO." There is only minor bluing loss on the sliding ring and a bit of wear around the rim of the butt cap. The ferrules are size 10/64 with an excellent fit. The rod weighs 2 3/4 oz. The action is a wonderful medium fast dry fly for a 4 weight line though some might prefer a 3 weight. Just a beautiful small stream rod.
Includes a replacement bag and tube. Despite being only one tip, this is one of the harder to acquire models, especially in this condition. You won't be disappointed.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
