For sale here is a beautiful and quite scarce Payne "Special" spinning bamboo rod -- 6' weighing 4 1/2 oz. 5-pc. The rod is in mint condition with the minor exception of a few indentations in the cork grip from the guides on the other sections being packed tightly next to it in the bag/tube. All sections are straight. Medium tempered cane with rich chestnut silks and gold tipping. Gold and magenta at the winding check and male ferrules. Oxidized guides. The blued Swiss-style ferrules are size 16/64, 13/64, 11,64, and 9/64; all are a perfect fit. The rod features the distinctive bright aluminum topped cork ferrule plugs that place this rod as being made sometime after 1948. The rod includes the original bag with hang-tag, both in pristine condition, as well as presumably the original tube with unique paper label. This rod was most likely a custom order as denoted by the "Special". As such it is very scarce. Don't miss a chance to own a true find among Payne rods, especially one in such fine condition.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt. Refunds will be either administered by providing a check or, when possible, by canceling a credit card purchase.
