Pezon et Michel PPP "Parabolic Royale Super" Bamboo Rod 8'3 2/2 5wt

For sale here is a Pezon et Michel Parabolic Royale Super bamboo rod - 8'3" 2/2 for a 5 weight line. The rod is in excellent+ original condition. Made in France. Part of the PPP line of P&M rods. Unlike the usual Parabolic Royale model, the "Super" comes with two tips and special appointments. Note, this is a French-made P&M, not a Sharpe's or Farlow's rod built on a P&M blank.

The rod features copper-colored wraps with black tipping. Red, white, and blue at the winding check; a nod to the French flag. Bronzed guides. The script remains clean and bold. Hansome burl walnut winding check. Cigar grip measuring 6 3/4" with little to no soiling. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat over a burl walnut spacer. Blued ferrules with red witness marks. The male ferrules are tapered to account for wear over time. The fit is perfect. The rod has a staggered ferrule design which helps with the rods parabolic action. The butt is 6" shorter than the tips. Unfortunately, the ferrule plug is missing. The tips have differing guide placements and one is heavier than the other. The rod weighs 4.85 oz. with the light tip and 4.95 oz. with the heavy tip. The heavier tip has a longer wrap at the tip-top. The action is on the faster side of medium-fast, parabolic, and authoritative yet smooth. A terrific rod for big flies or if the wind picks up.
