For sale here is a Pezon et Michel - Ritz Parabolic T.O.S. bamboo fly rod measuring 2.57 metres (8'6") for a 5 or 6 line, 2/1 with staggered ferrule design. A very scarce model, part of the Speciale Series. The rod is in excellent original condition, though a few wraps may need an over-varnish for protection at some point in the future and the tip section has a slight fishing set. The rod features the markings "HL/HS" which stands for high line - high speed. This was a casting technique invented by Charles Ritz. The T.O.S. stands for the well-known French society for Salmonid preservation “Truite – Ombre – Saumon” (Trout, Grayling, Salmon). The T.O.S. model was made from 1967-1980. The rod features honey colored tempered cane, 3 X 3 node spacing. The wraps are typical P&M emerald green with double bands of burgundy red on either side. Blue, white, red, at the winding check to represent the French flag. U-shaped hook-keeper. Sculpted bright aluminum winding check. Ritz shaped grip. The grip is soiled but in excellent condition, void of chips or hook gouges. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat with a cork spacer. Bright aluminum butt cap with P&M stamp. Blued ferrules, size 16/64. The fit is perfect. Ferrules have the distinctive red witness mark. Comes with classic P&M bamboo ferrule plug 13" in length. The rod features staggered ferrule construction, the tip measures 4'7" and the butt 3'11". The action is on the faster side of medium fast. The rod weighs 4.95 oz. Includes original bag and replacement Orvis tube. An excellent, original P&M for average to larger waters.
